Forex Rebates: How the Model Works

Forex rebates are recurring partner commissions calculated from eligible client trading activity under a broker agreement. They are not a fixed promise of income. Product type, account type, volume, spreads, deductions, client eligibility and partner tier can all affect the final amount.

How rebates are calculated

A broker may calculate rebates per lot, from spread or commission revenue, or through another contract formula. Gross volume alone does not show the payable amount because eligibility and deductions can differ.

Questions to ask before comparing rates

Request the current agreement and reporting definitions. Understand when a trade qualifies, how reversals work and whether rates differ by instrument, account or region.

  • What counts as eligible volume?
  • Which clients, products and countries qualify?
  • When are reports final and payments released?
  • Can terms or tiers change?

Why retention matters

Recurring economics depend on clients choosing to remain active. Useful education, honest expectations and responsive support are more durable than pushing users toward unnecessary activity.
