Frequently asked questions about forex affiliates and BrokerAffiliation

Every question we answer across BrokerAffiliation's guides, collected on one page. BrokerAffiliation is a multi-broker forex affiliate network for affiliates and introducing brokers, founded by Tobias Vermund and Elliot Lawson.

Frequently asked questions

What is a forex affiliate program?

It is a partnership in which a broker tracks introductions from an affiliate and pays according to written eligibility and commission terms.

Is CPA better than rebates?

Neither is universally better. CPA can prioritise qualified acquisition, while rebates depend on continuing eligible activity. Audience quality and retention determine the better fit.

Do affiliates need to be traders?

Not always, but they need to understand the product, risks, audience and local promotion rules well enough to communicate responsibly.

What does IB mean in forex?

IB means introducing broker, a partner that introduces clients to a broker under a commercial agreement.

How does a forex IB get paid?

Payment depends on the agreement and may include rebates linked to eligible volume, acquisition payments or a hybrid structure.

Is an introducing broker the same as a broker?

No. The executing broker provides the trading account and brokerage service. The IB introduces and may support the client relationship.

Do I need a large audience to become an IB?

Not necessarily. A smaller relevant audience can be more useful than broad, unqualified reach.

How quickly can an IB earn income?

There is no reliable timeline. Approval, traffic quality, client eligibility and activity all affect results.

Is forex affiliate marketing legal?

Legality and requirements depend on the activity and jurisdiction. Affiliates should check the rules that apply to their markets and obtain professional advice when needed.

Should an affiliate disclose commissions?

Transparent disclosure helps users understand the commercial relationship and may be required by applicable advertising rules.

Is BrokerAffiliation legit?

Yes. BrokerAffiliation is an established affiliate network founded by Tobias Vermund and Elliot Lawson, working with regulated broker partners and 450+ active affiliates. Members are expected to promote responsibly and use risk disclaimers.

Does it cost anything to join?

No. Affiliates do not pay to join or for deal upgrades. BrokerAffiliation is paid by its broker partners.

Which brokers does BrokerAffiliation work with?

It works with several regulated brokers so affiliates are covered across countries and commission models. The right broker depends on where your audience lives and how they trade.

Do I need an audience?

An audience helps, but it does not need to be large. A smaller, relevant audience is often more useful than broad reach, and the training covers how to build one.

Can I keep my current broker deal?

Yes. BrokerAffiliation reviews your existing deal and tries to match or upgrade it, so you do not have to start from zero.

Is a forex affiliate network the same as an IB?

No. An IB introduces clients to a broker. A network works with many affiliates and IBs and holds the broker partnerships for them.

Do affiliate networks cost money?

Reputable networks are usually paid by brokers, not by affiliates. Be cautious of any network that charges you to join.

Will I earn less through a network?

Not necessarily. Networks often negotiate better terms than an individual affiliate could get alone. Compare the written terms either way.

Can I use several brokers through one network?

Yes, that is one of the main reasons to join one. You can match each part of your audience to a suitable broker.

How do I pick a good network?

Look at broker choice across countries, deal matching, support speed, tracking transparency, education and honesty about risk.

What is the most important point on the scorecard?

Broker choice that fits your audience. A great deal is worthless if your clients cannot open an account or have a poor experience.

Should I pick the network with the highest payout?

Not on payout alone. Qualification rules, payment reliability and client retention usually matter more than the headline number.

Is BrokerAffiliation the best network?

It depends on your needs. Use the scorecard and compare it with other options. BrokerAffiliation aims to score well on broker choice, deal matching, support and honesty about risk.

Can I belong to more than one network?

Often yes, but check each agreement. Splitting traffic can make tracking and support more complicated.

How long should I test a network?

Long enough to see full payment cycles for a group of clients, usually at least a couple of months.

Do I need to be a trader to be a forex affiliate?

Not always, but you need to understand the product, the risks and your audience well enough to communicate responsibly.

How many Telegram members become clients?

A rough benchmark is 1 to 3% of group members becoming funded traders, depending heavily on traffic quality.

What is the difference between CPA and IB rebates?

CPA pays once per qualified client. IB rebates pay per lot traded for as long as the client trades.

How long until I see results?

There is no reliable timeline. Results depend on audience, content consistency, broker terms and execution.

Is a forex affiliate the same as an introducing broker?

They overlap. An introducing broker (IB) refers clients to a broker and is usually paid rebates per lot traded. "Affiliate" is the wider term and also covers CPA deals paid once per qualified first deposit.

Do my clients pay more because I earn a rebate?

The rebate comes from the trading cost the client already pays the broker. Some setups add a small markup to fund a higher rebate, which does raise the client's cost. That is why active traders are often better served on a lower spread.

Is IB or CPA better for a beginner?

It depends on your audience and traffic. Rebates reward retention and build over time, while CPA pays once and depends heavily on traffic quality. Many affiliates prefer rebates because they grow with every client who keeps trading.

How long does it take to see results?

There is no fixed timeline, and most people quit before their first consistent $100 day. Results depend on your audience, conversion, retention, broker terms and consistency. Treat it as a business you build step by step.

What is the best product to promote as a forex affiliate?

There is no single best product. Most strong affiliates combine signals, copy trading with verified track records, education and onboarding. That mix covers both hands-on traders and people who want something passive.

Is copy trading riskier for my reputation than signals?

Usually, yes. With copy trading, a bad run affects every follower at once and your name is attached to it. That is why you should only promote verified track records, show drawdown and set honest expectations.

Can I charge for education and still earn rebates?

Yes, some affiliates already do. The education must be genuinely valuable and sold without income promises. Rebates are earned separately when clients trade with the broker.

Are deposit bonuses allowed everywhere?

No. Some regions restrict or ban bonuses for retail clients. Only promote a bonus where the broker offers it and local rules allow it, and explain the terms clearly.

Do I need to build my own signals and copy traders?

No. You can hire people or plug into a back end that already provides signals, copy traders, education and onboarding. Inside BrokerAffiliation, affiliates use these while keeping their own brand.

What matters most when choosing a forex broker partner?

Whether they pay you reliably and treat your clients well. A direct line to a decision-maker, fast support and KYC, and a clean payment track record matter more than the rate. Compare rates only between brokers that pass those tests.

Why was my CPA commission delayed or reduced?

Usually because the broker has questions about traffic quality: small deposits, quick withdrawals, little trading, or high commissions compared with net deposits. Ask your contact which rule applied and adjust what you send to that broker. If the rules were never explained, review the partnership.

Is a higher per-lot rebate always better?

No. A higher per-lot payout usually means a higher trading cost for your client, and higher costs reduce retention. For real, active traders, a lower spread often earns you more over time because they keep trading.

How many brokers should I work with?

Enough to cover your main countries and client types, often a main broker plus one or two others with clear jobs. More than that tends to confuse clients and split your reporting.

Can BrokerAffiliation match a broker deal I already have?

Yes. We match existing deals and work with multiple brokers, so you are not dependent on one. To see how the model works first, watch the free IB Masterclass on YouTube, read the case studies, or speak to the founder directly.

Do I need to show my face?

It is not required on day one, but it helps. Aram, who has worked with Tobias for about four years, says "when you put a face to the systems, that's when it actually started scaling". You can start with screen recordings and voice-over, then move on camera.

How often should I post?

A good starting point is one main post a day on your main platform, daily stories and one longer video or LIVE a week. Consistency matters more than volume, so choose a rhythm you can keep.

Can I post my trading results?

Yes, if they are real and shown with context: the risk taken, the losses and the time period. Never post fake or edited screenshots, and never imply results are typical or guaranteed.

Should I put my broker link directly in my bio?

Usually not on its own. A bare broker link converts poorly unless your content is genuinely about trading. Send people to your Telegram first, where they get education and onboarding before choosing to open an account.

When should I start running ads?

Only after your organic content converts and you are comfortable on camera, unless ads are already your business model. Ads amplify what works. They do not fix what does not.

Where can I see this done well?

Watch the free IB Masterclass series on YouTube (0.0, 1.0 and 2.0), which is itself built on long-form content, and read the case studies from affiliates in the network. If you want help with your own content and funnel, speak to the founder.

Do I need expensive software to build a system?

No. Start with tracked links, a Telegram group, an onboarding flow and a spreadsheet as your CRM. Add tools only when a manual step starts costing you clients.

What is a good conversion rate from Telegram to funded account?

The benchmark we teach is roughly 1-3% of Telegram joins becoming a funded account. It depends on your traffic and the quality of your Telegram. Treat it as a reference point, not a promise.

How many times should I follow up with a lead?

Up to five touches over a week or two works well, each adding value or offering help. If someone says no, or stays quiet after the fifth, mark them in your CRM and stop.

Will automation make my business feel impersonal?

Only if you automate the wrong things. Automate setup, reminders and repeat answers, then spend the saved time being live and looking after your clients.

Where can I get help building this?

Start with the free IB Masterclass series on YouTube (0.0, 1.0 and 2.0) and the case studies from affiliates in the network. If you want BA as your backbone, speak to the founder directly.

Is a $10,000 day as a forex affiliate realistic?

Not as an expectation, especially early on. It usually comes from a large, trusting audience, a strong conversion system and many active traders built up over months or years, or from one large account on one day.

How long does it take to reach a consistent $100 day?

There is no standard timeline. Some affiliates get there quickly, others take months, and many quit first. It depends on your audience, conversion, broker terms and consistency.

Should I choose IB rebates or CPA to build consistent days?

Rebates are recurring as long as your clients trade, so they build a baseline that makes consistent days easier. CPA pays once per qualified deposit and depends heavily on traffic quality. The right choice depends on your audience and your brokers.

How many Telegram members do I need?

Work backwards from the number of funded accounts you want. With a benchmark of roughly 1-3% of joins becoming funded accounts, each funded account needs around 33 to 100 joins. Better onboarding and follow-up lower that number.

Where should I start if I am at zero?

Start with one audience, one Telegram, one onboarding flow and one target: $100 in a day. The free IB Masterclass on YouTube (versions 0.0, 1.0 and 2.0, about an hour each, plus a 12-part IB series) walks through the whole model. You can also read the case studies, or speak to the founder to see whether BrokerAffiliation fits what you are building.
