What to Promote as a Forex Affiliate: Signals, Copy Trading, Education and Indicators

The product you promote decides your reputation and your retention. Compare signals, copy trading, education and indicators, and learn to package them responsibly.

Most forex affiliates spend their energy on the broker deal and very little on the product. That is backwards. The broker pays you, but the product is what your client actually experiences every day.

Pick the wrong product and you lose clients within weeks, or worse, you lose your name. Pick the right mix and clients stay for months, trade more responsibly and send their friends to you.

This guide covers what to promote as a forex affiliate: signals, copy trading, education, indicators, mentorship and tools. You will see how each affects reputation and retention, how to package them into tiers, and how to promote them responsibly.

Why the product decides your reputation

In the IB model you earn rebates while your clients trade. So the real question is not "what converts?" but "what keeps people trading, without hurting them or my name?"

The product decides three things:

  • Reputation. If a product goes badly, your audience remembers who recommended it. Your face is on it, not the broker's.
  • Retention. A client who gets value keeps trading. A client who feels lost or burned leaves, and your rebates from them stop.
  • Referrals. Happy clients refer friends and family. Unhappy ones warn them.

Signals, indicators, education and community keep traders active for months, not days. A good product is the engine of the whole business.

The main product pillars compared

There are six main things you can offer. Most strong affiliates combine several.

  1. Telegram signal groups. A trader shares trade ideas with an entry, stop loss and take profit. The client decides and executes.
  2. Copy trading. The client connects their account to a strategy, usually inside the broker's platform, and trades are copied automatically. Only promote strategies with a verified track record, such as a verified Myfxbook.
  3. Education and onboarding. Basic lessons, live streams and a step-by-step start: open the account, verify, deposit, place a first small trade.
  4. Indicators. Chart tools that highlight setups. They feel very real to clients, because they see them working on their own chart.
  5. Mentorship and community. One-to-one calls, live streams, videos and group accountability. People often stay for the people.
  6. Tools. A trading journal, a trading hub, calculators. Useful for keeping clients organised and improving.

These ratings are general guidance, not fixed rules. Risk depends a lot on who runs the product and how you present it.

Why you need signals and copy trading

It is not signals or copy trading. It is both.

Signals protect your reputation

Signals are the safer product for your name. The signal comes from a trader with a proven process, and the client decides whether to take each trade and at what size. If a week goes badly, the client still made the final call.

The problem is churn. Roughly 40% of people do not want to sit and trade, and they do not want to learn. They want something passive. Give those people only signals and many of them will drift away.

Copy trading serves the passive 40%

Copy trading fills that gap. The client follows a strategy and does not have to watch charts. That is why copy traders with verified track records matter so much.

The trade-off: if a copy strategy has a very bad run, everyone following it feels it at the same time, and your business feels it too. Choose providers carefully, check the verified history including drawdown, and set expectations honestly before anyone connects an account.

Offer more than one option

Everyone should run signals. Many affiliates should also diversify into copy trading. Aram, who has worked with Tobias for about four years, deliberately gives customers more options: several signal groups and several automations. Different people want different things, and choice keeps more of them.

A proven, verified Myfxbook is also where you land affiliates, not only clients. Serious people want to see real, verified history before they put their name next to something.

Why educated beginners stay longer

The biggest opportunity in forex is people who have never traded. If you are the reason they start, and they make real progress, they tend to trade more responsibly and stay far longer than someone who drifted in from an ad.

Without onboarding and basic education you cannot bring new people into the industry. They get stuck at account verification, they do not understand lot sizes, or they deposit and have no idea what to do next.

You have two ways to solve this:

  • Hire someone to run live streams, lessons and onboarding.
  • Join an existing hub that already provides education and onboarding, and spend your own time on content.

Onboarding does not need to be manual. Robin, a 19-year-old affiliate in Norway, says the Telegram onboarding bot is the biggest help: "you just send them the bot, the bot helps them with everything."

Free now, premium later

Right now there is a huge wave of free: free signals, free groups, free education, all funded by rebates. That is the entry point for most clients.

We expect affiliates who have the guts to charge again for premium, real education to do very well. Some already do: they sell a paid education product and earn rebates on top. If you go this way, the education has to be clearly better than the free alternatives, and it must never be sold with income promises.

Some communities also upsell prop firm challenge preparation or an expert advisor (EA). Hold those to the same standard: real value, honest claims, clear risks.

Packaging products into tiers by deposit

Clients understand simple packages. If you can offer signals, copy trading, an indicator and education as one full package, grouped by deposit amount, you remove confusion and make the decision easy. That is what most clients are looking for.

Here is an illustrative example. The names and amounts are placeholders, so set your own based on your broker's minimums and your audience:

Tier (example)Example depositWhat the client gets
StarterBroker minimum up to $499Free signal group, onboarding bot, beginner education
Plus$500 to $1,999Everything in Starter, plus copy trading access and the indicator
Pro$2,000 and aboveEverything in Plus, plus all signal groups, a trading journal and group mentorship calls

A few rules for tiers:

  • Tiers describe support and access, never expected returns.
  • A bigger deposit is not a better outcome. Say on every tier that people should only deposit what they can afford to lose.
  • Never push someone into a higher tier than they are comfortable with. The right tier is the one that fits their situation.

Deposit bonuses as a promotional hook

Some brokers offer deposit bonuses. Where the broker offers one and local rules allow it, a bonus can be a strong hook. If your broker does not offer one and your audience is in a region where bonuses are permitted, that can be a reason to add a broker that does.

Wording matters. "Your first deposit matched" lands better than "100% deposit bonus", because it is easier to understand.

But be honest about what a bonus is:

  • A bonus is trading credit with terms, not free money.
  • The bonus amount itself often cannot be withdrawn, and the terms usually include trading requirements.
  • Withdrawing funds can reduce or cancel the bonus, depending on the broker's terms.
  • In some countries, bonuses for retail clients are restricted or not allowed at all.

Always summarise or link the terms, and never promote a bonus in a region where it is not permitted.

How to promote each product responsibly

Trading carries substantial risk. Clients can lose money, and many beginners do. How you promote your products decides whether you build a trusted brand or a short-lived one.

Rules for every product:

  • A clear risk warning in your bio, Telegram group, captions and live streams
  • 18+ only
  • Tell people to only trade with money they can afford to lose
  • Follow the promotion rules in your country and in your audience's countries
  • No "guaranteed profit", no income promises, no fake screenshots
  • Remind people that past results do not guarantee future results

Product by product:

ProductPromote it like thisNever do this
SignalsShow the full history, winners and losersQuote a win rate or post only winning trades
Copy tradingUse verified track records only, show drawdownShare screenshots nobody can verify
EducationPromise skills, structure and supportPromise income or "quit your job" outcomes
IndicatorsShow it on live charts, including failed setupsCall it a money machine
MentorshipExplain exactly what support people getImply the mentor guarantees results
BonusesExplain the terms in plain wordsCall it free money or promote it where not allowed

Transparency does more selling than any claim. Lucas, a trader turned IB in Copenhagen, puts it simply: "seeing is believing". On Zoom he opens the signal groups, copiers, Myfxbooks and broker connections live, so people see exactly what they are joining.

Let BrokerAffiliation be your back end

Building all of this yourself takes years: signal providers, vetted copy traders, education, onboarding and broker deals. Most affiliates never get there.

Inside BrokerAffiliation, we give affiliates the backbone so they do not have to build it alone:

  • Free Telegram signal groups run by in-house signal providers, including a group that targets risk-to-reward rather than pips
  • Copy traders with verified Myfxbook track records, plus help promoting them the right way
  • Education and a hub, with live sessions and onboarding
  • An indicator originally developed by a hedge fund manager on US30 and converted to work on gold
  • A Telegram onboarding bot that walks new clients through account setup and drops them into the right group automatically
  • An affiliate dashboard with multi-link tracking
  • Licensing and frameworks
  • Partnerships with multiple brokers
  • BA account managers and support

You keep your own brand and your own style. BA is the back end. As Borys, a 19-year-old trader and affiliate, puts it: "I don't have to think about the traders, I don't have to think about the systems, you do them and I use them to scale my business."

If you want to see the products and how affiliates use them, watch the free IB Masterclass on YouTube, read the case studies, or speak to the founder.

Top 10 tips

  1. Choose products for retention, not just conversion. The product that keeps clients trading and happy is the one that pays over time.
  2. Run signals as your base. They are the safer product for your reputation, because the client decides and executes.
  3. Add copy trading for passive clients. Roughly 40% of people want something passive, and signals alone will not keep them.
  4. Only promote verified track records. A verified Myfxbook wins clients and affiliates. Unverified screenshots lose both.
  5. Never quote win rates. Show the full history, including losing trades and drawdown.
  6. Make onboarding automatic. A bot or a clear step-by-step flow stops beginners getting stuck before their first trade.
  7. Educate beginners properly. People you teach well tend to trade more responsibly and stay longer.
  8. Package by deposit, not by promise. Tiers should describe access and support, never expected returns.
  9. Treat bonuses as credit with terms. Explain the terms clearly and only promote bonuses where the broker offers them and local rules allow.
  10. Show everything live. Open the groups, copiers and track records on a call or stream, because seeing is believing.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best product to promote as a forex affiliate?

There is no single best product. Most strong affiliates combine signals, copy trading with verified track records, education and onboarding. That mix covers both hands-on traders and people who want something passive.

Is copy trading riskier for my reputation than signals?

Usually, yes. With copy trading, a bad run affects every follower at once and your name is attached to it. That is why you should only promote verified track records, show drawdown and set honest expectations.

Can I charge for education and still earn rebates?

Yes, some affiliates already do. The education must be genuinely valuable and sold without income promises. Rebates are earned separately when clients trade with the broker.

Are deposit bonuses allowed everywhere?

No. Some regions restrict or ban bonuses for retail clients. Only promote a bonus where the broker offers it and local rules allow it, and explain the terms clearly.

Do I need to build my own signals and copy traders?

No. You can hire people or plug into a back end that already provides signals, copy traders, education and onboarding. Inside BrokerAffiliation, affiliates use these while keeping their own brand.
